Ranau is a district in Sabah, located 108km east of Kota Kinabalu. The town is famous for its hilly geographical structure. After all, that is where our country’s highest peak, Mount Kinabalu, is located at. Ranau is about 2 hours’ drive from Kota Kinabalu.

Ranau had been a gathering spot for paraglide enthusiasts for quite some time but had just gaining popularity these few years. Lohan, a location between Ranau town and Poring, is one of the paragliding spot in Sabah due to its mountainous region.

The paragliding site had beautiful scenery for paragliding. The greenery, along with the nearby village, makes it resistible for people who wanted to challenge themselves flying with the aid of paragliding gear and a pilot.

To join this tandem paragliding activity, you need to book in advance. The best time to paraglide is during weekends. The passenger needs to weight between 30 to 90 kg, for participants aged 17 years and below, they need to be accompanied by parent or guardian.

The takeoff point is located about 7 km from Ranau. In order to enjoy the activity, you need to keep your whole day free because flight is subject to ideal weather condition.
