Magic Mt. Kinabalu 3D2N
At 4101 m Mount Kinabalu is the highest mountain in Borneo and the highest between the Himalayas and Iran Jaya. Park Headquarter is already high enough to be pleasantly cool and typical montane forest grows around the area; well-marked trails that led through the forests here. The Mountain Garden contains a variety of interesting plants, including montane orchids and pitcher plants.
Day 1: Meet at Kota Kinabalu airport and transfer to your choice of hotel. We recommend you to stay at 4 star Sabah Oriental Hotel (formerly known as Beverly hotel) . Rest of day is free and we will bring you to dinner in evening. Overnight at hotel. (Dinner)
Day 2: After early breakfast, we leave hotel for a over 2 hours drive to Kinabalu Park and proceed to the starting point of your mountain scaling trip. One extraordinary sign is that as your climb the vegetation changes from oak and chestnut forest to mossy forest and eventually to alphine vegetation when you reach at 11000’ at the mountain hut. Day 3: This morning at 0300hrs we ascend to the summit of Mt Kinabalu in time for the sunrise. We then return to Laban Rata for your breakfast before descend to Park HQ. Have your lunch at Balsam Café and we proceed to travel overland to Kota Kinabalu. Either you put overnight at Sabah Oriental Hotel (formerly known as Beverly hotel) or onward flight home. Note: Climbing Mt Kinabalu depend on the availability of the mountain hut and need well in advance to book. We can only confirmed this tour if the mountain hut is available. Once payment is made there is no refund according to SSL booking system.
Mountain hut is very basic with bed bunk only and in certain mountain hut there is no heater so see below the requirement for the climb.
Requirement for the Climb:
Warm clothes, raincoat, torchlight, water bottle, rucksack, sleeping bag, toilet and bath kit and a small first Aid kit.
The Price includes: all transfers, meals as stated, entry permit and fees, climbing fees, climbing insurance, Kotas transfer, mountain guide, and accommodation at mountain hut.
Not included: Climbing certificate, tipping and items not included.
