Citadines Uplands Hotel Kuching Sarawak
There is good news for all you Kuching holidaymakers here! There is a new hotel in the vibrant city of Kuching for you to try out. The Citadines Uplands Hotel or also known as Citadines Apart’ Hotel, managed by Ascott Limited Properties, has just opened its doors in December 2012. Citadines Uplands Hotel is just located in Jalan Simpang Tiga, across the road from the Spring Shopping Centre, which is known to be the largest shopping mall in Sarawak.
The front lobby of Citadines, on the second floor is well decorated in a modern style. The carved glass panel behind the reception counter is one thing that will catch a visitor’s eyes upon arriving at the lobby. Currently the café in the lobby has not started operation yet although the rooms are now available for booking. The Citadines also offered a long-term stay for those who are working and living in Kuching. The reception is open 24-hour so visitors can check in at any time of the day. There is ample car parking space at the basement level. There is also a small supermarket on the ground floor with several other shops that will open soon in the near future.
Nestled in the education and government hub of Kuching, Citadines has a range of 215 studio apartments and one to two bedrooms units on offer. The introductory rates start from RM168 for the studio premier room to RM328 for the two bedroom premier apartment. The rates for all the rooms are inclusive of daily breakfast and wi-fi internet connection. With the different room rates on offer, visitors have a choice on which room to take depending on their lifestyle and budgetary needs.
The furnished apartments in Citadines are designed with separate living and dining rooms, which gives guests extra space to move about. The two-bedroom premier apartments for instance, boast a width of 67 square metres. The spacious rooms do create an atmosphere of a home away from home.
All the rooms in Citadines are equipped with several impressive amenities such as alarm clock radio, bathroom complete with towels and toiletries, coffee and tea making facilities, hairdryer, home entertainment system, multi-split air-conditioning for visitors to control their apartment environments, ironing facilities and IDD telephones. They also come with a fully equipped kitchen that includes a cooker, cutleries, microwave ovens, toaster and a refrigerator. There is a secure electronic safe in every room for visitors and residents to store their valuables. The array of amenities available in the rooms are impressive, to say the least.
Citadines comes with a fully equipped gym, resident’s lounge an outdoor swimming pool with an adjoining children’s pool and a sauna room. Citadines also offers facilities for visitors and residents’ business needs with audiovisual equipment and meeting rooms available for hire. The hotel offers an airport transfer service, babysitting service, a laundrette room for those who wants to do their own laundry and alternatively, a laundry and dry cleaning service. There is 24-hour security and closed circuit television throughout the hotel. The wide range of service does reflect the fact that Citadines is also meant to be a long-term residence, most likely for expatriate workers.
The only downside to Citadines is that it is not located downtown. However, the nearby Spring Shopping Centre is a plus point for visitors who are coming for a shopping experience. In short, this newest hotel in town is worth trying out. Who knows, you might be pleasantly surprised by the experience.
